Antwerp-bound Super Eagles dazzler Ejuke will not return to CSKA Moscow
Published: July 29, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chidera Ejuke's spell at Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow has surely come to an end.
Ejuke joined CSKA Moscow from Heerenveen in 2020, signing a four-year deal with the Muscovites.
The Super Eagles dazzler triggered the temporary employment rules, which were approved by The Bureau of the FIFA Council, and suspended his contract with CSKA Moscow until June 30, 2023.
It was impossible for CSKA Moscow to include a buy option into any deal taking him away from Russia simply because his contract expires at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Ejuke is departing CSKA Moscow after registering eighteen goal involvements in 65 all-competition appearances across two seasons.
Subject to passing a routine medical, Ejuke is joining Belgian champions Royal Antwerp and could be featuring in next season's Champions League.
Ejuke played in Norway between 2017 and 2019, scoring 15 goals and notching 6 assists in 69 appearances for Vålerenga Fotball, and registered 16 goal involvements in 29 games for Heerenveen during the 2019-2020 season before moving to Russia.
