End Of Story: Emenalo's Monaco Beat Chelsea To Signature Of Russian World Cup Star Golovin

Michael Emenalo's Monaco have won the race for the signature of Russian World Cup star Aleksandr Golovin .

The French Ligue 1 side have reported on their official website the signing of the talented young player on a five-year deal, ending once and for all speculations linking the midfielder with an imminent move to Chelsea.

It is believed that former Chelsea technical director Emenalo persuaded Golovin to snub a move to Stamford Bridge as well as Juventus who were interested in his signature.

Aleksandr Golovin was one of the young stars of this summer's World Cup which was staged in his homeland, scoring two goals in his four appearances and helping the Russians reach the quarterfinals of the competition.

Emenalo has overseen the arrivals of U23 players Antonio Barreca (Torino), Tiago Ribeiro (Porto), Eliot Matazo (Anderlecht), Jonathan Panzo (Chelsea) and Robert Navarro (Barcelona) to Monaco in the summer transfer window.

In addition, Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel (Saint-étienne), Sofiane Diop (Rennes), Wilson Isidor (Rennes), Samuel Grandsir (Troyes) and Willem Geubbels (Lyon) were signed from French clubs.
