Nigeria will qualify for next year's tournament in Cameroon with a win or at least a draw.
"South Africa defeated us in the first leg in Uyo so will feel they are now good enough to win against us irrespective of which players we parade," Nwosu whose goal in the final of the Maroc 88 Africa Cup of Nations against Cameroon was ruled out for 'offside' told allnigeriasoccer.com Saturday morning.
"By the grace of God, we should come back with a good result, at worst a draw, we must not be defeated the second time by the South Africans. My prayers and hope are with the Eagles.
"Yes we're missing a couple of players but I believe the players we have now will do a good job. Surely it will have been nice to have John Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi and Odion Ighalo but there is nothing we can do about it.
"The absence of some of our players is a good opportunity for those playing today to stake their places in the team," the 1980 AFCON winner with the Green Eagles stressed.
