Interim Nigeria manager Augustine Eguavoen feels that Kelechi Iheanacho is not living up to his potential because he is being asked to perform different roles for club and country.
The Taye Academy product is often deployed as a center forward by Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers, and for the Nigeria national team he has played in multiple positions including number 9, support striker, winger, attacking midfielder and playmaker.
Iheanacho has carved out a reputation as not only a goalscorer but an provider of assists as well, setting up 24 goals scored by his teammates since moving to the King Power Stadium.
Speaking to ATHLST, Eguavoen stated :"Iheanacho is okay but the only little problem is in Leicester City he's playing a different position, he comes to Nigeria he's playing a different position.
"I think the sooner he settles for one position I think the better for him."
Iheanacho is expected to play a key role for the Super Eagles at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations as there are question marks over the fitness of two center forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu.
