Arsenal made it five wins from five in the Premier League to keep their top four bid well on track with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho started in place of the injured Jamie Vardy for Leicester City but was ineffectual as he was lucky not to have been red carded for two fouls.
The former Manchester City striker first saw yellow for an elbow on Gabriel Magalhães and escaped a sending off when he repeated the trick on Ben White in the second half.
Wilfred Ndidi came off the bench in the second half of the game but Ademola Lookman was not in action.
Arsenal broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the game when Thomas Partey headed in the ball unmarked.
The Gunners dominated possession but went into the halftime break with just one goal advantage to their credit.
However the lead was doubled by captain Alexandre Lacazette who crashed home the ball from the penalty spot in the 59th minute after VAR spotted a handball by Soyuncu.
The goal ended Lacazette's drought and it was the 200th of his career.
Arsenal with 51 points accumulated are fourth in the table and have a three-game in hand on Manchester United, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
