The transfer window has always been called the silly season due to the twists, turns, surprises and shocks it brings along.
While clubs are scampering to secure squad-improving signings in readiness for next season, the football world was shocked when it was revealed by renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano that Portuguese legendary superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo told Man United he wants to leave this summer as he wants to see more ambition. Man Utd are still hopeful of keeping CR7, but aware of decision. 🚨🇵🇹 #Ronaldo

This is shocking to Manchester United and as stated by the report, the Old Trafford outfit is adamant that Ronaldo is not available to leave and there is hope that the player would remain at the club.
This is a huge dilemma for the club as the market for elite strikers is very slim. Manchester United was first linked with Darwin Nunez but the Uruguayan has since joined Liverpool. United probably did not push hard for Nunez thinking Ronaldo was staying.
Haaland is already a City player, Gabriel Jesus will soon be unveiled as an Arsenal player while Rashford and Martial have been largely underwhelming.
Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca has also been linked with Paris St Germain and Robert Lewandowski wants to move to Barcelona.
With these strikers either off the market or difficult to get, is it time for the club to reopen Nigeria's Victor Osimhen file?
United has been linked with Osimhen this summer. While the rumours were not very strong, Ronaldo staying may be the reason for that. Osimhen fits the bill perfectly for the 4-3-3 Juego De Posición tactical system Erik ten Hag is trying to implement at the club.
Osimhen is good at linking and combining play, running the channels, aerial duels, finishing and moving expertly in the box.
He is also one of the few elite strikers that are available for a transfer if their club's valuation is met.
While several clubs may be put off by the 100 million euros valuation slapped on the Nigerian by Napoli, allnigeriasoccer.com thinks it is time for United to reopen Osimhen's file..
