Arsenal bowed out of the Papa Johns Trophy at the round of 32 stage after a 3-2 loss to Stevenage at The Lamex Stadium (Stevenage, Hertfordshire) on Tuesday, November 22.

As for team news, Zach Awe, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Joel Ideho and Ethan Nwaneri all tasted action for the Young Gunners, while Liverpool academy product David Amoo started for Stevenage.

Butler-Oyedeji gave Arsenal the perfect start when he blasted the ball into the net after a rebound fell kindly to him in the fifth minute. 

It took his tally in the competition to four goals, having registered his name on the scoresheet in group stage games against Cambridge United (2) and Northampton Town. 

Amoo opened his goalscoring account for Stevenage five minutes after the interval as he tapped home from inside the box and  Dan Sweeney made it 2-1 in favour of the home team midway through the second half. 

Amario Cozier-Duberry restored parity with a brilliant individual goal in the 74th minute but Stevenage restored their one-goal advantage through Arthur Read, who found the bottom corner from 30 yards out with fifteen minutes left on the clock. 

Arsenal now turn their attention to the Premier League Cup, with a trip to Swansea City on Saturday, November 26.
