Arsenal-owned goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo kept his first clean sheet in six games to help Wrexham register a 1-0 win over Notts County in a League Two clash held at the STōK Cae Ras this past weekend.

Wrexham, who pride themselves as the third oldest professional club in the world, had failed to post a clean sheet in five games in a row prior to the visit of Notts County, with Okonkwo conceding ten goals during that period. 

Okonkwo made a number of crucial saves to deny Notts County from opening the scoring. 

Steven Fletcher volleyed the ball into the top corner at minute 20 to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in the hard-fought win. 

Four minutes after Wrexham's opener, Notts County came close to a leveler, only for Okonkwo to keep David McGoldrick's left-footed effort that looked destined for the bottom corner out.

The Nigerian goalkeeper thought he was beaten in the 70th minute when McGoldrick fired home but the goal was ruled out for handball in the buildup. 

His clean sheet against Notts County took his total for the season to eleven from 25 all-competition appearances including nine in the fourth tier of English football.
