<span class="st">Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has announced that the German champions plan to extend the contract of David Alaba at the end of the season.<br /><br />David Alaba's contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2015. <br /><br />The 20 - year - old has impressed especially in the Champions League and Bayern chiefs are desperate to tie him down to a longer contract to scare away potential suitors. <br /><br />Matthias Sammer told <i>Kicker</i>: ''There is not a lot of time left until 2015. When we are convinced about a player, we have so far always reacted early. <br /><br />''We need to act early in cases where contracts expire in 2015, otherwise you end up with a poker game and this only causes unrest.<br /><br />''David is a good lad and a fantastic player.
