<u><b>Source: Tribalfootball.com</b></u><br />Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi used Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as inspiration as he battled with asthma as a junior.<br /><br />Ameobi admits he feared he would never get the chance to play at international level when he started suffering from asthma aged 11.<br /><br />He still has to use an inhaler daily but added: &ldquo;At first I was scared as I thought this might deflect me from my dreams.<br /><br />&ldquo;But Shola and my family said it&rsquo;s only you who can sort this out and see if you can make something of your life &mdash; and they kept encouraging me and I&rsquo;m very grateful.<br /><br />&ldquo;I have it and I am not going to let that be an excuse to not be able to make it to the top of my game.<br /><br />&ldquo;Paul Scholes has had it and he has done OK, hasn&rsquo;t he?&rdquo;<br /><br />Photo Credit: Official website Newcastle United<br />
