OBAFEMI MARTINS Says He Wants To Outperform KONE
On his league debut on Sunday, Obafemi Martin proved he is a match-winner as his late strike with three minutes of normal time left handed Levante a 2 -1 victory over Real Sociedad.<br /><br />Following the departure of Arouna Koné to Wigan in the summer transfer market, Levante went shopping for the replacement of the Ivorian forward. <br /><br />After weeks of negotiations, the Valencia based outfit were able to lure Obafemi Martins away from Russian club Rubin Kazan.<br /><br />Speaking in his post match comments to Spanish Media, the Nigeria international says he wants to outperform Koné.<br /><br />"In the first practice I saw that the club Levante is not as small as some think and I'm very happy to be here,'' Martins was quoted as saying by <b>superdeporte.es</b>.<br /><br />The former Inter Milan star also thanked his parents and brother, and said that he was very happy for his debut goal and the three points. <br /><br />27 - year -old Martins is the 11th Levante player to score on his debut in the Spanish championship.<br /><br />Photo Credit: Official website Levante<br />
