Qatari Club Did Not Meet MARTINS Valuation
Rubin Kazan of Russia striker Obafemi Martins has had his potential move to a top Qatari side put on hold due to financial disagreement, National Mirror can authoritatively reveal. <br /><br />The deal brokered by a French agent may have hit the rocks as Rubin were asking for a king’s ransom fee of 9 million Euros to price the former Inter Milan star away, who still has a year left in his contract. <br /><br />The Qatari side also struggled to meet with Martin’s personal fee of 2 million Euros per year in wages.<br /><br />The Qatari club were reluctant to part with the huge fee but settled to an agreement with the for the Newcastle United striker that they would swoop on him as a free agent next summer.<br /><br />Martins, who battled injury concerns for the better part of last season which criminally limited his league and Champions League appearances, has since rejoijed his club on their pre-season build up ahead of the new season.
