Bitter - Sweet Return For Juwon Oshaniwa, Ashdod Crash Out Of Cup
Published: February 11, 2014
True to the words of Dudu Dahan, respected Israeli agent of Juwon Oshaniwa, the wing-back was restored to the starting
line-up for the Cup clash with Hapoel Ramat Hasharon on Tuesday
evening.
Oshaniwa had missed at least two days of training last week as he was processing his United States visa for the friendly against Mexico early next month.
Logically, he was left out of the squad for the Premier League tie with Maccabi Petah Tikva last weekend.
There were suggestions by the Israeli press that the Super Eagle was not pulling his weight at training but those claims were vehemently denied by Oshaniwa and his agent.
By the way, it was a bitter - sweet return for Juwon Oshaniwa as Ashdod failed to qualify for the last 8 of the State Cup, losing 8 - 7 on penalties to Hapoel Ramat Hasharon.
The Nigeria international confidently slotted his penalty to bring the scoreline to 7 - 6 in favor of Ashdod before a miss by teammate, Hatem Abd al-Hamid.
