Sidney Sam To Skip Game Against Schalke 04
Published: February 14, 2014
German international of Nigerian descent Sidney Sam, 26, will skip Bayer Leverkusen’s game with Schalke 04 on Saturday even though he has fully recovered from a hamstring injury that previously sidelined him.
Manager Sami Hyypia has said that Sam will not be considered for selection as he becomes a player of Schalke 04 with effect from this summer.
“I think that it is better for him that he is not in the squad. I think that would not be good that he will play against Schalke,
“I think that’s a good rule. I do not know why it’s different in Germany. That may be fine, that can go wrong. I think it’s funny that it is so,” Sami Hyypia said.
