Oba Aromolaran National Under-17 Soccer Competition Begins

The grassroots soccer tournament named after the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran tagged Oba Aromolaran National Under-17 Soccer Competition would today begin.
The Executive Governor of Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola is one of the dignitaries expected at the opening ceremony being staged at Osun State College of Education Ilesa, Osun State.
36 grassroots club from all states of the federations including Federal Capital Territory have all converged in Ilesa to compete for honours in a one-week money spinning maiden soccer event that would end on March 2nd .
The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland while speaking ahead of the commencement of the competition assured more than 1,000 youths that would be in Ilesa for the tourney a secured and memorable stay during the period of the competition.
“Our People are hospitable and accommodating, and I’m sure they will extend the good gesture to all our visitors.
“This soccer competition would henceforth be an annual one that would serve as our own way of contributing to the development of soccer that seems to be the most popular sports among our youths,” the respected Yoruba Monarch noted.
Among other dignitaries expected at the opening event are Assistant Inspector General of Police zone XI, AIG David Omojola, the Chairman Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and the FIFA/CAF advisor, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde.
