Exclusive: Ex Flying Eagle Emmanuel Ibok Edet Quits Floriana
Published: June 19, 2014
Former Flying Eagles defender Emmanuel Ibok Edet , 24, has chosen not to extend his contract with Floriana and will walk away as a free agent.
His contract with the Maltese Premier League campaigners had expired at the end of last season, and the leadership of the club had wanted to extend his stay at the Independence Ground, but failed to meet his wage demands.
“Floriana and I could not reach an agreement on the wage they offered me. They proposed a one - year extension.
“I have a new team now but will not be able to disclose the identity because there is a clause that allows me to leave for a new team before the end of the transfer market,” says Emmanuel Edet to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The former Atlético Baleares man made 29 starts for Floriana in the championship last term, with his solitary goal coming against Balzan in January.
