Ull/Kisa Midfielder, Stanley Ihugba Blames Ahmed Suleiman For Freak Training Ground Injury
Published: July 20, 2014
Norway based midfielder Stanley Ihugba is pointing his fingers at his compatriot at Ull/Kisa, Ahmed Suleiman, for the injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the past few weeks.
One of the first names on manager Tommy Berntsen’s team sheet, Ihugba has not featured for Ull/Kisa since the 1 - 3 loss to Tromso more than a month ago after a training ground accident.
“I could not play against HamKam because I had a wrist operation two weeks ago. I got injured during a training session. My teammate called Ahmed Suleiman pushed me from behind,” Ihugba told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Stanley Ihugba was in the podium on Saturday cheering Ahmed Suleiman, as the forward scored his first hat - trick since he departed his homeland for Norway two year ago.
“For me I think Ahmed Suleiman did everything right yesterday.
“The first half of the game with HamKam did not go our way, the way we planned it, but the second half was great.
“We did not play so good in the first round. Hopefully, in the second that started yesterday, and with the form I saw yesterday, we can change the league table in the next two months coming,” he concluded.
If his rehabilitation goes according to plan, Ihugba will resume full training with Ull/Kisa on August 14, 3 days before the meeting with Tromsdalen in the championship.
