Published: August 21, 2014
As Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) looked set to book a ticket back to the elite cadre of Nigerian football, the new Oyo State Head of Service in Oyo State Adesoji Eniade has charged the players and management of the traditional club not to lose focus and put in every best in ensuring that the team return back to where its belong.
The former Permanent Secretary of Oyo State Ministry of Youths and Sports expressed this while reacting after the last match
where Gateway FC of Abeokuta forced the Oluyole Warlord to a 2-2 draw at MKO Stadium Abeokuta last weekend.
He said Oyo people are not pleased seeing their darling team that first won a continental laurel for the country, campaigning at the lower cadre of Nigerian Football League.
He however assured 3SC management of maximum support from Oyo State government.
“From my little experience of Nigerian League, I know it is more difficult to survive in the NNL than the Premier League and that is why I’m commending our boys over their top performance so far in the less fancied NNL and urging them not relent until the ultimate goal is achieved, and that is securing promotion ticket back to the first division.
“I’m sure this administration would celebrate them appreciably and all the teeming fans of the club.
“I would also personally throw a party for the boys to celebrate them, ” Eniade who won a football Gold medal with the University of Ibadan Soccer Team at the National University Games (NUGA), 1980 noted.
