Obafemi Martins Scoops MLS Player Of The Month Award

Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins has been rewarded for his imperious form for the month of September, after he was named the Player of the Month by the MLS.
To scoop the award, the Nigeria international saw off competition from Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers ), Steve Clark (Columbus Crew)and Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution).
More than half of the poll respondents voted for Obafemi Martins while his nearest challenger Landon Donovan of the LA Galaxy garnered 13.56 percent of the votes.
Back in August, the ex Inter Milan and Newcastle star was awarded Player of the Week.
Remarkably, Obafemi Martins has notched up 23 goals (14 assists) in 47 MLS games, and Seattle Sounders won each of those games he registered his name on the score-sheet!
