Molde Striker, Daniel Chima : This Has Been My Best Season
Published: October 21, 2014
After winning the Norwegian championship with four games to spare, Molde FK manager Tor Ole Skullerud decided the give some fringe players in the squad match time in last weekend’s clash against Haugesund.
But that move backfired after the three - time Tippeligaen champions lost their first home game of the 2014 season to struggling FKH, who were without Super Eagles invitee Ugonna Anyora.
Daniel Chima was introduced with 14 minutes of normal time left in the coach’s bid to salvage a point, and the Nigerian striker scored what was only a consolation goal in added time.
“The coach decided to give some players that haven’t played much playing time, but unfortunately it didn’t go in our favour.
“We have lost at home already, I guess the plan did not work out well (smiling),” Daniel Chima told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 23 - year - old’s ten strikes this season has surpassed his nine - goal haul of the 2013 campaign, and he has admitted that this is his best season since turning professional.
“Yes, it has been my best season and I pray I score as much as I can get before the end of the season,” he added.
Molde have three more matches to play in the Premier League before they face off with Odd Grenland in the final of the Norwegian Cup on November 23.
