Efan Ekoku SAD Over Wilfried Bony Manchester City Move
Published: January 15, 2015
Retired Super Eagles forward Efan Ekoku says he is unhappy that Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony chose Manchester City over Liverpool.
Bony has penned a four - and - a - half year deal with The Citizens, with the English Premier League champions expected to pay Swansea City at least 25 million pounds for agreeing to sell their key player.
“If I’m being honest I’m disappointed because he’s not going to get the game time that I think he deserves.
“The qualities that he’s shown over the last two seasons in the Premier League deserve a regular place,” said Efan Ekoku to London Evening Standard.
The former Wimbledon striker went on : “You’d hope that the player would be smart enough to say ‘Okay, Liverpool may not be winning the championship this season but they’ve got a good chance qualifying for the Champions League.
“He’d certainly be ahead of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert for example but who knows maybe Liverpool weren’t interested.”
