Wilfred Ndidi Tipped To Break Into Racing Genk First Team
Published: January 17, 2015
Dominic Egbukwu, the Nigerian adviser to new Racing Genk signing Wilfred Ndidi, believes the central defender will make an impact in the Belgian Pro League.
The Nigeria youth international completed his switch to the Cristal Arena on Thursday, after signing a two - and - a - half - year contract that will keep him at the club till June 30, 2017, at least.
Egbukwu believes Ndidi’s performance during trials has indicated that he is ready to be thrown into the first team.
“We are happy the boy has signed for Racing Genk. His International Transfer Certificate was sent on Friday, so he is now ready to play,” said Dominic Egbukwu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Ndidi is fit and he showed during trials he’s a good player. Before we signed the agreement, we stressed that he should be given an opportunity in the first team.
“Sporting Braga, Anderlecht and Standard Liege also wanted him, but we picked Racing Genk because of their pedigree with young players.”
French - Cameroonian agent Oliver Noah, who manages the affairs of Granada youngster Isaac Success, brokered the deal that took Wilfred Ndidi to Racing Genk.
