Red Star Belgrade Announce Hiring Of Gbolahan Salami; Salary Is Reduced Due To Fitness Concerns
Published: January 19, 2015
After days of uncertainty, Red Star Belgrade have unveiled Nigeria international Gbolahan Salami, 23.
Though the official word from the Serbia champions was negotiations with Warri Wolves had not yet been concluded, in reality, it had been discovered during a routine medical that the attacker had excess fat.
“If he did not pass the medical examination, would not be signed. Deferred presentation has nothing to do with it, but it comes to technical stuff about borrowing between the two clubs,”Business Director Stefan PantoviÄ said.
Because of doubts surrounding his fitness, Salami will earn 5,000 euros every month instead of 10,000 euros that the parties had agreed when terms were being thrashed out.
For the next six months, the Super Eagles forward will play with the number 11 jersey.
