Kenneth Omeruo Sees Handwriting On The Wall He Is Surplus To Requirements At Chelsea
Published: July 16, 2015
The Chelsea squad departed for their pre - season tour of North America on Wednesday, with four players of Nigerian descent making Jose Mourinho’s roster.
Nigeria internationals John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses were among the 23 players that arrived in Montreal in the evening local time.
And joining the experienced duo are Anglo - Nigerian youngsters and England youth - teamers Dominic Solanke and Ola Aina.
But there was no place in the traveling party for Kenneth Omeruo, a handwriting on the wall that the central defender is not in the plans of the Portuguese manager for the upcoming season.
The Super Eagle is being linked with a switch to Celtic but the Hoops will only move for him if they crash out of the Champions League and lose Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk.
At the International Champions Cup, the Blues will take on New York Red Bulls next Thursday before games against PSG and Barcelona.
