Obafemi Martins Set To Miss Ninth Game In A Row
Published: August 09, 2015
Obafemi Martins will not return to action when Seattle Sounders tackle Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS on Sunday evening.
The Nigeria international did not travel with the squad to Los Angeles, meaning he failed a late fitness test just as was the case last weekend before the game against Vancouver Whitecaps.
Sounders coach Sigi Schmid had hinted that the striker will be in contention to start at Stubhub Center but it is all but confirmed that he will miss his ninth straight game of the season.
Martins has not featured in the league since he injured his groin on June 17th against Fanendo Adi’s Portland Timbers.
He netted 8 goals in all competitions before his spell on the sidelines.
