Published: September 20, 2015
Scottish Premier League champions Celtic are hoping to strengthen their attacking options with the signing of free agent Carlton Cole.
Carlton Cole was amongst the spectators at Celtic Park on Sunday as The Bhoys thrashed Dundee 6 - 0 and manager Ronny Deila confirmed after the game that the club will hold transfer talks with the Anglo - Nigerian striker.
“He was here to watch the game and get to know us, to see the city and see the club, and we will have talks with him,” said Ronny Deila.
“He’s a very good footballer and he’s shown in the Premier League and the Championship that he can score goals, so we’ll see him in training.
“ He’s different from what we have. He’s a target man and very good in the air and strong, so, if everything fits, it could be good for us.”
The 31 - year - old Cole has spent all his professional career in England, starting with Chelsea before shifting to West Ham United in addition to loan spells with Wolves, Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa.
