Watford Rule Out January Sale Of Odion IghaloWatford manager Quique Flores says the club do not intend to part company with Odion Ighalo when the January transfer window opens for business.

This summer, the Nigeria international genuinely attracted interest from Hebei China Fortune but the forward and his intermediary Atta Aneke turned down the offer from China that would have seen him pocket £12million ( or £3million per season) over the duration of the four - year contract, excluding performance related variables.

“He had the chance to go out in the summer but decided to stay here and that was an amazing decision. When a player plays well the value changes to buy him,” Quique Flores said .

“But we now think Ighalo is our most important player, he is very happy and can play in different positions.

“I’m not scared about Ighalo. I’m happy with him and not thinking about what might happen in the winter market.”

Of the six goals Watford have scored since their return to the Premier League, Ighalo has netted 5 and was on target for the Super Eagles during the international break in their friendly versus Cameroon.
