Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi was ahead of Montreal Impact star Didier Drogba in the vote for Player of the Month for October in Major League Soccer.

As at Tuesday, Adi had garnered 35.62 percent of the votes, while the former Ivory Coast international, who won the accolade in September, had 31.97 percent.

Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew), Sacha Kljestan (New York Red Bulls ) and Mauro Diaz (FC Dallas) round up the top five positions in that order.

Voting will remain open until 1900 hours on Wednesday , Nigerian time.
