Published: December 26, 2015
According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff, Golden Eaglets star Samuel Chukwueze will be used as makeweight in the deal taking Kelechi Nwakali to Arsenal if the transfer materializes.
Diamond Academy Umuahia suits have told representatives of the Gunners in clear terms that they will only sanction Nwakali’s transfer to the Emirates if Chukwueze is acquired alongside the Nigeria U17s skipper.
It is believed that the 16 - year - old will train with Arsenal just as the central midfielder, with a view to penning a preliminary contract that will be activated when he attains the age of majority.
Diamond Academy have told interested teams to pay Nwakali’s 3.5 million euros asking price, while they have demanded approximately half of that sum for Chukwueze.
A product of Emmanuel Amuneke Academy, Chukwueze won the Bronze Boot at the Fifa Under 17s after netting 3 goals (3 assists).
