Published: January 05, 2016
Malaysian Super League side Terengganu FA are in advanced talks with out - of - favour Nigeria international Victor Obinna regarding a transfer in the January transfer window.
If the former Inter Milan, Malaga and West Ham star proves he is in tip - top condition, he will be offered a contract, according the Turtles Secretary-General, Arpin Draman.
“The former Nigerian international will arrive this week, based on discussions we’ve had with the player’s agent. Hopefully, he adds depth to our offensive department,” Arpin Draman told Harian Metro, via fourthofficial.com.
The 28 - year - old has been inactive for MSV Duisburg since November 7,2015 because he is presently nursing a knee injury.
“But we are not keen on signing a player who is unfit or lacks the predatory instinct, so Obinna would be required to undergo a routine fitness test, medical check-up and prove his abilities on the pitch as well,” Arpin concluded.
Dickson Nwakaeme was heavily courted by Terengganu FA before the club shifted their attention to Obinna.
