Published: January 18, 2016
Newly-promoted Swedish Allsvenskan club östersunds FK have announced the signing of former Nigeria U20 international Alhaji Gero.
The financial terms and duration of contract were not disclosed by the Jämtkraft Arena outfit but the player has informed allnigeriasoccer.com that he signed a deal until the end of the 2019 season.
The attacker most recently defended the colours of Viborg but reached an agreement to terminate his contract with the Danish Superliga side by mutual consent last weekend.
After the transfer was completed, Gero told allnigeriasoccer.com : “I have signed for östersunds FK because I want to develop as a player and to be able to do that I needed more playing time and I could not get that from Viborg.”
“So we decided to go apart. I chose östersund because I like the way they play and I believe that I can achieve more as a football player here with them.”
For the upcoming season, the former Enugu Rangers and östers IF striker has been handed the number 18 kit by östersunds FK.
