Published: January 19, 2016
Nigeria Under 23 international Erhun Obanor has moved quickly to dismiss statements credited to Abia Warriors Chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama, that claimed that he absconded from the Umuahia side.
The 20 - year - old was farmed out on loan by Bendel Insurance to Abia Warriors for the whole of last season and the agreement between the defender and the Abia State club technically ran out in November 2015.
Obanor has been suffering in silence but has decided to spill the beans, stating that Abia Warriors failed to pay him his wages for November while Bendel Insurance are yet to be paid the loan fee of =N=500,000 by the NPFL outfit.
“I was loaned to Abia Warriors for one season and the agreement has ended. Other players in Abia Warriors were paid November salary, I was not paid, ” Erhun Obanor told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I called the Chairman, Emeka Inyama, and he told me my loan has ended, that the club is not owing me. I am shocked he said I am a player of Abia Warriors.
“Let him (Inyama) show the whole world the valid contract I signed for the club.”
Erhun Obanor’s contract with Bendel Insurance expired in 2015, meaning he was a free agent in line with the rules and regulations of Fifa before penning a three- and - a - half - year deal with Club Africain in the January transfer window.
