Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Line Up Obafemi Martins To Replace Tim Cahill
Published: February 15, 2016
Chinese Super League club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are hoping to complete the signing of Nigeria international Obafemi Martins this week.
Netease Sports says the Seattle Sounders frontman is expected to replace Tim Cahill at the club and the Australia international was informed late last night that he will not travel to South Korea with the squad for pre-season training.
Though Cahill has been offered a contract extension, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are far from impressed with his goal tally last season - 11 in the league- hence, their decision to acquire Martins.
The FC Ebedei product has been a long-term target of Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and was linked with a move to the club five years ago.
