Seattle Sounders Players Pay Tribute To Martins; Striker To Undergo Shanghai Shenhua Medical On Thursday

Seattle Sounders players past and present have paid tribute to Obafemi Martins in emotional posts on social media after the Nigeria international confirmed that he has joined Shanghai Shenhua, subject to a medical.
Major League Soccer and Seattle Sounders are yet to announce the transfer though Martins has arrived in South Korea to link up with his new club at their training camp.
Seattle Sounders netminder Stefan Frei tweeted : “Wishing @Obafemimartins the best on his new adventure! I’ll miss playing with a world class player + all his shenanigans in practice #Legend.”
Steve Zakuani, who turned out for Sounders from 2009-2013, added : “One of the most special players I’ve ever played with, and a good friend off the pitch. All the best King Oba you made a lot of people happy.”
Obafemi Martins will undergo a medical examination on Thursday, February 18 and will complete all formalities to join Shanghai Shenhua before he starts training with the team.
