Mysterious Knee Injury Behind Barnabas Imenger Botched Moves Abroad
Published: March 03, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Nigeria international Barnabas Imenger has missed out on several moves abroad in the last one year due to a mysterious knee injury.
The striker’s dad, retired Nigeria international Barnabas Imenger Snr, had to consult several herbalists to cure the injury but they were unsuccessful.
Imenger had two different offers from Moroccan clubs Olympique Clube de Khouribga and Hassania Union Sport Agadir, and was courted by Smouha SC in Egypt but kept insisting he could not play with his damaged leg and will fail the medical, so refused to travel to North Africa.
During his loan stint with Kano Pillars in 2015, he was largely inactive for the club because of the chronic knee injury.
His proposed move to Nasarawa United fell through last month after they failed to meet his wage demands. He is now being linked with an unnamed team in Finland.
