Fanendo Adi Happy To Prolong Stay At Portland Timbers Until 2019
Published: March 15, 2016
Fanendo Adi is delighted to be starting a new chapter in his career with Major League Soccer outfit Portland Timbers after extending his contract.
The 25-year-old joined the Timbers from FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2014 and has registered 28 goals in 65 appearances for the club including the MLS playoffs.
“I extended my contract because it is just the normal thing to do, we talked and agreed for a new deal and sure I won’t say no to a deal offered to me by my club,” said Fanendo Adi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“That says as a player you are doing well and the club wants you and value you, it is a great opportunity to continue here in Portland and I am happy I got a new deal.
“We have aspirations as a team and I am just happy to be a part of it.”
Adi was rumoured to be on the wishlist of clubs bases in England, Russia, Germany, Scotland and China in the January transfer window.
The new contract he signed will keep him at Portland Timbers until 2019.
