New Signing Derick Ogbu Pleased With Reception From Ventforet Kofu, Japanese Fans
Derick Chuka Ogbu is delighted with the reception he received from the management of Ventforet Kofu after signing a contract with the Japanese JI League side.

The former Liaoning Whowin and CFR Cluj star has admitted that he penned a short-term deal with Ventforet Kofu because he is targeting a return to Europe next January.

“I signed a one-year deal without option because I am going to move back to Europe in January 2017 possibly, ” said Derick Ogbu to allnigeriasoccer.com.

“They gave me a very good reception, one of the best I ever had, very professional club. Before I arrived Japan on 17th March, everything was already arranged, my apartment and a car, in fact all necessities.

“The first impression was amazing, the fans gave me a lovely welcome, Japanese people are very polite, my team mates are nice.

“The foreign players in the team were happy to have me around, everyone at the cub welcomed me well. ”

Ogbu is optimistic that his paperwork will be completed in time for him to take part in Sunday’s league game against  Omiya Ardija.

“I think my clearance could be sorted out this weekend, so maybe I might play some part on Sunday or hopefully make a full debut in the next league game in April,” Ogbu concluded.

For the remainder of this season, the Nigerian striker will sport the number 11 jersey at Ventforet Kofu.
