Sturm Graz Striker Bright Edomwonyi Eyes Reunion With Stars In Nigeria U23s Squad
Published: April 09, 2016
Former Flying Eagles striker Bright Edomwonyi says he has unfinished business with the Nigeria youth setup and is eager to represent the Dream Team VI at this summer’s Olympic Games.
The Sturm Graz starlet has stated that he has a good relationship with several players in the Samson Siasia-led side and will quickly settle into the squad if invited.
“I have not yet been contacted but hopefully soon. It will be great to represent my country at the Olympic Games,” Edomwonyi said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Most of the players in that team are my friends so we all know what it takes to play for Nigeria. I have all the qualities a striker needs, that is why I am playing in Europe.”
Edomwonyi, who began his career in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, is hoping Sturm Graz will qualify for next season’s Europa League despite eight points separating them from Olarenwaju Kayode’s Austria Vienna with seven games left.
“It has been going good for me and the club. Our aim is to qualify for Europe next season, so we are still having few games left.
“I am confident we can qualify, it is possible if we can win five out of our last seven games, ” the Sturm Graz number 34 added.
In 20 Bundesliga outings in the ongoing season, the K.V.C. Westerlo product has scored two goals.
