Ex-Flying Eagles Star David Abwo Launches Football Academy

Former Nigeria junior international winger, David Solomon Abwo has launched a football academy in Jos.
The academy,known as The Way Forward Football Academy, TWFFA, was launched this evening at a very colourful ceremony at the Rwang Pam Stadium before the very presence of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Simon Bako Lalong ably represented by the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Danladi Mann.
Other notables who were at the Rwang Pam Stadium during the unveiling ceremony include former Nigerian Internationals, Sambo Choji, Kelechi Okoye, Victor Wickadson and Sylvester Ekoja.
Others include the Chairman, Plateau State Football Association, PFA, Hon. Sunday Samson Longbap, Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Plateau State Chapter, Thadeus Yilmen, Director of Sports, Plateau State Sports Council, Logan Dapaar as well as other distinguished members of the Plateau Sporting and Political family, Peace Nongovernmental organisations and members of the Press.
A novelty match was played to mark the occasion. Media Consultant of the Way Forward Football Academy, Ambassador Yemi Mathew who spoke to allnigeriasoccer.com after the unveiling ceremony said Abwo formed the Academy only to give back to the society that moulded him.
David Abwo who plays professionally in Turkey was part of the Flying Eagles squad to the Africa Youth Championship which Nigeria won in 2005.
He also played at the Fifa U-20 World Cup for Nigeria that year.
