Arsenal Midfielder Kelechi Nwakali Finally Makes Full Debut For MVV
Published: October 28, 2016
One of the hopes of Nigerian football, Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali, finally made his full debut for MVV Maastricht in their Eerste Divisie game with Volendam on Friday night.
The Diamond Academy product has been named in the starting XI for the first time in his professional career, and wore the famous number ten kit for today’s game at De Geusselt.
Prior to the contest, the central midfielder had made four substitute appearances off the bench for MVV Maastricht in the league, and was a substitute against Volendam in the Cup back in September.
Nwakali was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2016 after starring for the Nigeria U17s at the World Cup but will remain on loan at MVV until the end of this season.
The 18-year-old was courted by clubs in Italy, Holland, Turkey, Portugal and Greece before he was snapped up the Gunners.
