Published: October 29, 2016
A number of clubs below the Premier League might be interested in the signing of some of the outstanding youngsters in the ranks of Arsenal and Sunderland in the near future.
The well informed Twitter account @Scoutsattending has reported that representatives of Millwall, Carlisle United, Southend United and AFC Wimbledon were at Meadow Park (Hertfordshire) on Friday night to witness the meeting between the Gunners and Black Cats in the Premier League 2.
While no player of Nigerian descent was involved for Arsenal, the highly-rated Sweden U21 international Joel Asoro started for Sunderland before he was replaced by Josh Maja in the 64th minute.
An Arsenal scout watched Asoro play for Sweden U21s versus Netherlands in September and was impressed by his performance.
VFB Stuttgart ambassador Thomas Hitzlsperger was also present to run the rule over Sunderland and Arsenal players.
