Leicester City new recruit Wilfred Ndidi is the biggest transfer involving a Nigerian player in the Belgian top-flight, allnigeriasoccer.com can reveal.
The Nath Boys product has penned a five-and-a-half year contract with The Foxes, with Racing Genk set to pocket a minimum of €17.6 million transfer fee, and that figure beat the previous mark when Imoh Ezekiel joined Al Arabi, Qatar for €8 million from Standard Liege in 2014.
Joseph Akpala ranks third and fourth on the list of most expensive transfers. Club Brugge paid €3 million to bring him from Charleroi in 2008, before he moved to Werder Bremen four years later for €1.5 million.
Former Golden Eaglets sensation Tosin Dosunmu held the Nigerian transfer record for four seasons before Akpala broke it. Austria Vienna paid €1.35 million to snap him up from Westerlo.
