A couple of players of Nigerian descent were on target in the third round of the Emirates FC Cup on Saturday, January 7.
Former Nigeria U23 trainee Ayo Obileye scored what turned out to be consolation as Eastleigh were hammered 5-1 by Brentford at Griffin Park.
The defender bundled home from six yards out to bring the scoreline to 3-1. Wolves loanee Hakeem Odofin played the full game for Eastleigh.
At New York Stadium, Oxford United achieved a victory over Rotherham United, with Tom Adeyemi heading home to make it 3-2 in the 90th minute, but his team could not equalize before the end of the contest.
A late goal from Adebayo Akinfenwa assisted Wycombe Wanderers to beat Stourbridge 2-1 at Adams Park.
