Cameroon In Search Of A Goal Poacher Ahead Of World Cup Qualifier Against Nigeria
Published: January 15, 2017
Cameroon manager Hugo Broos admits his side have goalscoring problems ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles in August.
The Indomitable Lions have managed to score only three goals in their last three competitive matches, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
“Our problem tonight is that we have not been able to score. In the first half, we have a golden opportunity. If we put it in the net we are sure to win, ” Broos told reporters.
“But we did not score. In the second half we have another good opportunity, but once again we do not score.
“We have reasons to have regrets tonight, because this is a game we should have won.”
Nigeria are four points above Cameroon after their first two games in the World Cup qualifiers, following wins against Zambia and Algeria.
