Super Eagles Coach Receives Good News From Iwobi Ahead Of Senegal Friendly
Published: February 22, 2017
Alex Iwobi has moved quickly to shoot down rumours which suggested that he picked up an injury against Sutton United on Monday night.
The attacking midfielder had posted a picture of his right foot wrapped in a bandage on his Snapchat account on Tuesday, and this fueled speculation that he won’t be available for selection against Liverpool on March 4.
But the Nigeria international later clarified via the same medium :“Alex Iwobi Is injured?” LOOL No He’s Not.”
Iwobi started the fifth round FA Cup tie against the non-leaguers but was replaced by Alexis Sanchez with 16 minutes remaining.
The news that he is not injured will be sweet music to the ears of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the national team’s international friendly with Senegal in a month’s time.
