Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi went the distance yet again for the Premier League champs. His header from a corner came off Huddlestone and into the back of the net in the 90th minute. Teammate Ahmed Musa was left out of the squad.
The full-time whistle at Vicarage Road was 4-3 in favour of Southampton. Watford’s Italy international Stefano Okaka started and played for 89 minutes.
Super Eagles invitee Isaac Success, on as a substitute in the 70th minute, sent a cross into the box and Okaka turned home from six yards in the 79th minute to restore parity. Young striker Olufela Olumola did not feature for the Saints.
Crystal Palace recorded a monumental 2-0 win over West Brom at the The Hawthorns. Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu came off the bench for the Baggies with 19 minutes left on the clock.
