Gent Rue Absence Of Esiti, Troost-Ekong Vs Genk; We Are Not Barcelona That Were Favored Ahead of Gent’s UEFA Europa League Round of 16, Game 2 tie with Racing Genk, manager of the East Flanders outfit Hein Vanhaezebrouck has rued the absence of William Troost-Ekong and Anderson Esiti.

Whilst the Super Eagles defender has not been registered for the competition, the defensive midfielder has been suspended for the tie at the Cristal Arena, having been sent off in the first leg.

Gent need to score three goals without reply if they are to progress to the quarterfinals, and manager Vanhaezebrouck has suggested that they will need to be favored by officials, like Barcelona, if they are to pull off a miracle.

“Esiti is suspended, Kubo and Troost-Ekong are not allowed to play, Vanhaezebrouck told sporza.be.

Even with our strongest team winning at Genk is hard, now we have to win with four goals difference and we missed a lot of players. Thats impossible.

“More than a miracle is needed for qualification, and that will not happen. We are not Barcelona and even that team could not have done so without outside help ” .

Strikers Samuel Kalu and Moses Simon, who were involved in the first leg, are in line to feature against Racing Genk tonight.
