Yakubu Departs Coventry City After Contract Is Mutually Terminated

EFL League One club Coventry City have mutually terminated the contract of former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni two months before the agreement between the two parties would have expired.
Yakubu made three appearances for the Sky Blues, before suffering a hamstring injury against Swindon Town on February 25.
The 34-year-old, who has an impressive CV, previously represented English clubs Middlesbrough , Everton, Portsmouth FC, Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and Reading.
He made over 250 appearances in the English Premier League before transferring to Guangzhou R&F (China) in 2012, followed by spells with Al-Rayyan (Qatar) and Kayserispor (Turkey).
A product of Julius Berger, Yakubu made his last appearance in a Super Eagles shirt against Rwanda in February 2012.
