Exclusive - P-Square & Eto'o Connection: Metz Ahead Of NPFL Clubs In Race To Sign Nigerian Fabregas
Published: April 15, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigerian wonderkid Solomon Ebuka Ogueri, dubbed the new Cesc Fabregas, is attracting huge interest from French Ligue 1 clubs.
The central midfielder, who celebrates his 17th birthday this July, will travel to France in the coming weeks along with his representatives for talks with FC Metz and be shown around the club's facilities with a view to a transfer when he attains the age of majority.
Metz face competition for the in-demand promising talent as AS Saint-Etienne have also expressed an interest in the teenager after scouting him during their recent trip to Lagos.
Solomon Ogueri is on the books of Omole United FC, a Lagos-based team financed by Peter Okoye of P-Square, and former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o managed to convince the player to sign a representation agreement with Utopia Group and Smart Sport Management on Saturday because of his personal relationship with the football-loving Nigerian musician.
Several Nigerian Professional Football League teams had contacted Ogueri's camp over a deal, but the top prospect rejected their advances.
