Nigeria International Striker Scores Brace For Oxford United, Then Gets Sent Off Nigeria international Ini-Abasi Umotong bagged a brace as Oxford United lost 3-2 to Sheffield FC in a Spring Series clash on Saturday.

The U's took the lead on 17 minutes thanks to Umotong, who dusted herself off to dispatch a penalty after she was fouled in the box by Johnson.

On 28 minutes, the Super Falcons star was unlucky not to double Oxford United's advantage when her shot from 25 yards out was saved by the goalkeeper, and the visitors were made to regret that miss as Sheffield FC netted three goals in the space of 13 minutes in the second half.

With 14 minutes left on the clock, it became 3-2 when Umotong rose above her marker to head the ball into the net, but got sent off almost immediately after receiving her second yellow card for clashing with the goalkeeper as she was rushing to get the ball out of the net.

Born in Calabar, Ini had stops at Birmingham City COE, Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Wright State University and Portsmouth before joining Oxford United in 2016.
